This is the transcript of an actual radio conversation of a US naval ship with Canadian authorities off the coast of Newfoundland in October, 1995.

Radio conversation released by the Chief of Naval Operations on November 10, 1995.

Americans: Please divert your course 15 degrees to the North to avoid a collision.

Canadians: Recommend you divert YOUR course 15 degrees to the South to avoid a collision.

Americans: This is the Captain of a US Navy ship. I say again, divert YOUR course.

Canadians: No. I say again, you divert YOUR course.

Americans: THIS IS THE AIRCRAFT CARRIER USS LINCOLN, THE SECOND LARGEST SHIP IN THE UNITED STATES' ATLANTIC FLEET. WE ARE ACCOMPANIED BY THREE DESTROYERS, THREE CRUISERS, AND NUMEROUS SUPPORT VESSELS. I DEMAND THAT YOU CHANGE YOUR COURSE 15 DEGREES NORTH, THAT'S ONE FIVE DEGREES NORTH, OR COUNTER-MEASURES WILL BE UNDERTAKEN TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF THIS SHIP.

Canadians: This is a lighthouse. Your call.

A new language? I can’t even get my own mothertongue right :/

Posted on May 4, 2009

I'm learning a new language in my unit - Bahasa Indonesia. Why? I cannot say, and I will not(: In any case, it's funny how I'm working on a new language and leaving my chinese in terrible shape. Okay it's not that terrible, but could be much better. I like the chinese language actually.

Outing last Saturday with my Secondary School friends(:

We went to Red Dot Design Museum in the morn. There are seriously cool and insane designs there :D if you've the time, and feeling artsy, go have a look! It won't disappoint! http://www.maad.sg/index.htm

After that, Settler's cafe @ SMU(: our first game was something about ducks? It's kind of a strategy game, but a little based on luck too. I tend to dislike luck games, because, the value of strategy gets diminished. In any case, it was just to kill time while waiting for the rest to arrive.

After that, we played a board game called QuelS? It was one of the best moments of the whole experience x) The photos are on my facebook account! Click here: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=77572&id=781244314&l=df1628be48

I shan't explain too much. I'm actually not in a very chatty mood.

Ah okay, and dinner was at Astons Specialties, Suntec City. Cheap food! Heh. $7.20 for a western meal with 2 side dishes. If you want a filling meal, get potato varieties for the sides! Like, potato salad, then baked potato. Carbohydrate bomb(: But, it's really filling. And $7.20 is inclusive of GST. There ain't any service charge:D

After that, went to Esplanade to sit down and chitchat. Heh, that's about it.

I'm pretty dead on words. I haven't been able to get a certain issue off my mind.
